360º Care in Nursing: Institutional Responsibility for the Comprehensive Well-Being of Healthcare Staff. A Review of the Current State.

Background: Nursing staff play a crucial role in the healthcare system, not only by providing essential care but also by contributing to the early detection of complications and offering emotional support to patients and their families. The growing concern about burnout among nurses has highlighted the importance of adopting the 360º Care approach, an integral framework that addresses the physical, emotional, and professional well-being of these professionals. This study examines the role of healthcare institutions in implementing policies that promote the well-being of nursing staff from this perspective.
Objective: To analyze the impact of evidence-based interventions on the clinical, functional, and psychosocial outcomes of patients.
Materials and Methods: A descriptive literature review was conducted to analyze institutional strategies aimed at improving the well-being of nursing staff. The search was performed in databases such as PubMed and Scopus, focusing on articles published between 2015 and 2023. Keywords such as "nursing staff protection" and "360º Care in nursing" were used.
Results: The implementation of the ABCDEF bundle in critically ill patients has shown significant benefits, including a reduction in delirium incidence (RR = 0.57; 95% CI, 0.36–0.90) and duration (−1.37 days; 95% CI, −2.61 to −0.13), as well as improvements in mobility and quality of life 90 days post-discharge. However, the high heterogeneity across studies underscores the need for randomized controlled trials. Additionally, effective communication in intensive care units (ICUs), using structured tools such as SBAR and methodologies like VALUE, has been shown to reduce errors related to communication failures, although it remains a priority area for training in Spain.
Conclusion: Evidence-based interventions, such as the ABCDEF bundle, early mobilization, and personalized care programs, have been shown to significantly improve clinical and psychosocial outcomes for patients.
