Keywords:
Varicose Ulcer, Wound Healing, Evidence-Based Nursing, Case ReportsAbstract
Background: Venous ulcers are a common challenge in nursing practice. The lack of structured training hinders their management.
Objective: To analyze the management of venous ulcers based on publications from the “Escuela de Heridas” section.
Method: A 76-year-old patient with three leg ulcers was assessed using the Wound Evaluation Triangle and treated following the Wound Hygiene model.
Results: Epithelialization was achieved after one year of follow-up, identifying several key recommendations highlighted in the “Escuela de Heridas”.
Conclusion: A comprehensive approach and the use of structured models help improve outcomes in the treatment of chronic wounds.
