n the city of Lugo, on November 24, 2011, the founding meeting of the GALICIAN SOCIETY OF WOUNDS takes place, established as a non-profit organization that will primarily develop its activities at the regional level. This society aims to improve knowledge about a problem of significant impact in our society, such as chronic wounds, which are considered a health issue, leading to a decrease in quality of life and significant economic repercussions. The existence of this Association has as its main objectives to promote the study of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with chronic wounds, as well as to establish a link for coordination, mutual communication, and scientific exchange among its members and between the different scientific associations involved in any of the aforementioned processes related to chronic wounds.
