Descriptive study on the knowledge and trust of the population in nurse prescribing.

Background: Nurse prescribing enhances professional autonomy and healthcare efficiency, although its implementation in Spain remains limited.
Objective: To analyze the population’s knowledge and confidence in nurse prescribing and the factors influencing their perception.
Method: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among adults from four Primary Health Care centers in the Lugo, A Mariña, and Monforte de Lemos Health Area using an ad hoc questionnaire.
Results: High levels of confidence and acceptance were found, particularly among women and participants with higher education.
Conclusion: Despite positive attitudes, nurse prescribing remains underused, highlighting the need for greater professional visibility.
