In its early days, back in 1998, they worked during the summer for 2 or 3 months, a few days in December, and the rest of the time on some weekends, supporting the hospital wards.
They called it reinforcement, but they were actually covering structural deficiencies. At that time, there was only one nurse for 28 patients per shift on weekends, which was clearly insufficient.
