Abstract

In emergency and acute care units, private consultations, and mental health units, there exists a large number of patients and families seeking desperate attention. They present a form of emotional chaos that greatly interferes with their ability to lead a normal daily life (difficulty focusing on studies, maintaining employment, constant changes in goals and aspirations, interpersonal relationship problems, and, in general, staying alive without self-harm). Often, they feel alone, misunderstood, confused, lost, incomplete, abandoned, and do not understand what is happening to them. These individuals are particularly vulnerable and sensitive.
