Abstract

ERCP is a procedure used to identify stones, tumors, or narrowing in the bile ducts. During this same exploration, a series of therapeutic techniques can be performed, such as sphincterotomy (a small incision to widen the bile duct exit), removal of small stones, dilation of bile duct stenosis, or placement of stents if necessary.
