Abstract

Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a complication that can occur after a bone marrow or stem cell transplant, in which the recently transplanted material attacks the recipient's body. The incidence of GVHD has increased in recent years due to the rise in the number of transplants performed. It presents in two forms, acute and chronic, each with specific clinical, immunological, and histological characteristics.
