Abstract

The Illustrious Official College of Nursing of Lugo has intensified its efforts in defending and promoting the nursing profession. During the Northern Interprovincial Meeting on School Nursing, the need to integrate nurses into educational centers to promote child and adolescent health was highlighted. Additionally, the College is leading the defense of the University School of Nursing of Lugo (EUE), which could lose its autonomy due to integration into the University of Santiago de Compostela. The creation of a Faculty of Nursing Sciences at the Lugo Campus has been proposed to ensure quality education and healthcare in the province.

Among the recent notable activities are the Lugo Film Week, the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Marathon Day, the IX Expert Course on Shared Assistance and Perioperative Medicine, and the IX Nursing Conference of the Lugo, A Mariña, and Monforte de Lemos Area, all focused on promoting the visibility and impact of nursing in the community. The College reaffirms its commitment to improving public health and defending the profession as an essential pillar for social well-being.
